STALYBRIDGE TOGETHER PRESS RELEASE
Stalybridge Together last night (Tuesday 13th January 2015) held a meeting to discuss opportunities for Stalybridge. The meeting was held at 6.30pm at the Civic Hall in Stalybridge. The meeting was chaired by Cllr Ken Cleary, a representative of ChALC and he was joined by Cllr Ken Edwards, Cheshire East Council and Bollington Town Council ; Vicky McLarnon, Chair of Stalybridge Together; Neil Merriman Vice Chair of Stalybridge Together and Kath Walls Stalybridge Together Secretary. Also in attendance were representatives from Tameside Council and representatives from local organisations and groups. (A full list of attendees will be available in the days after the meeting.)
Stalybridge Together are proposing to establish a Stalybridge Town Council which will operate in partnership with Tameside.
In Stalybridge there are already various groups trying to improve life in Stalybridge. However, many local people felt that this was not being achieved. Therefore Stalybridge Together was born. Stalybridge Together is a group of people from Stalybridge who want to improve the local area, they are from different parts of Stalybridge and are involved in different aspects of the town.
